1901 census...Aged [5], he was at Fen Bank, Isleham wih his father George W. HUMAN [31] farm labourer born Isleham; his mother Deplhine [34], born West End, London, brother Sidney [7] and sisters Hilda [3], Edith [2] and Katherine [8 months]. All the children were born in Isleham. 1911 census...Aged 15, yardman/cowman on farm, he was at Fen Bank, Isleham with his parents, brother Sidney (horseman on farm) and sisters Hilda, Edith and Catherine. |
Enlisted in Bury St Edmunds. Without his service records there is no way of telling if he died of wounds or illness. Rouen was a major hub for the British and base for over a dozen hospitals. His battalion had been in the Vierstraat region of the Ypres Salient from the start of the year. Although in a state of readiness, very little in the way of action. |
